Food List for Induction


Tuna, salmon, sole, trout, sardines, herring and flounder.

Salmon and other cold water fish are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids.


Clams, lobster, mussels, oysters, prawns, crab meat and squid can be consumed, according to the diet.

Mussels and oysters have a high carbohydrate content so must be counted and limited to four ounces per day.


Chicken, duck, turkey, goose, poussin, quail and pheasant can be consumed in any quantity.


Beef, bacon, pork, lamb, veal, venison and ham are all allowed.

Processed meats such as ham, bacon, pepperoni, salami, hot dogs and other luncheon meats – and some fish – may be cured with added sugar and will contribute carbs. Try to avoid meat and fish products cured with nitrates, which are known carcinogens.

Also beware of products that are not exclusively meat, fish or fowl, such as imitation fish, meatloaf and breaded foods. Finally, do not consume more than four ounces of offal a day.

You need not remove the skin and fat from meat or fowl. This will be a real meat diet.


Cooked in any style - deviled, fried, poached, hard-boiled, omelets, scrambled or soft-boiled.

Eggs are supposed to be the staple in Atkins low carb breakfast ideas due to their high nutritional properties, so be as creative with them as you want. Some plans restrict the yolks, however, you can consume yours while following dr Atkins low carb diet.
